Review on πŸ•οΈ Campbell Well Cap: Durable Cast Iron Casing for 6-inch Wells by Jeff Jackson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Plain base coat - period

We lost our house in a wildfire and nothing was left of the well except the exposed steel casing of the well. He even melted the thick aluminum cap he was wearing! The cast-iron cap seemed to be the answer. Unfortunately, you still get what you pay for. In this case, it's just a very simple case, not an upper bound. There's a difference. The actual cap is used to seal the wellhead, while this cap is simply a loose fit. There is no internal seal or o-ring in the lid to minimize entry of dust, dirt, insects or bugs. Each of them can easily get in and go down the well. A moot point as the exit of the power/lifeline is not threaded for a wire or plug connection as expected. How to attach a wire/plug is a mystery as there are no instructions included and cast iron is difficult to drill and thread. It's just a very heavy decoration on the fountain and nothing more. You get the same effect as an upside down coffee can covered with a stone. Think about it, it might even work better.

  • Pleasant to use
