After reading all of these other reviews I approached my first use with some trepidation. But it worked fine! I put in 2 tablespoons of popcorn (relatively fresh since I just bought it yesterday, which may be part of the success), drizzled with oil and cooked for about 3 minutes (I have a fairly old microwave). Almost all the grains burst and only about 5 escaped from the container. Nice bowl of popcorn! ****I've edited my review to add that it's also a great container to warm up a batch of oatmeal. You can add 1/4 cup of oatmeal, milk, fruit, etc. and microwave it without overcooking.
