Bought to run VMs on VMware ESXI and Proxmox as there is no way to mount your drives in those types of operating systems to back up or mirror. There's no way to mirror in software, so you'll need a hardware raid device. Raid modes 1 and 0 work fine (just make sure to reformat the drive if you switch modes). I doubt that the performance of the SSDs will increase significantly when running in Raid 0 since they are still limited by the SATA bus, but it can improve the performance of a 2.5" HDD. In terms of size, it's perfect for a variety of systems in any 3.5-inch drive bay. The screws are perfectly aligned, unlike some other converters I've seen.
