I work at a nursery and turn thousands of screws building poultry houses. Even with the pilot hole drilled, the Phillips head on these screws will peel off like butter when inserted into the metal stud. Self-tapping screws with a similar profile are very difficult to find commercially. They should be stronger (larger diameter) and have a square or hex head. I spent a whole day not being able to screw in all the screws and adjust the trap. Every time I went into a good build, the Phillips would rip off, and then in order to get the bad screw out and re-drill, I had to remove every successfully installed screw, open up the space, and then cut off the bad screw. saw to separate the latch from the rack. When I finally got everything together, the adjustment mechanism didn't move! Finally, the instructions they give are as helpful as any Chinese instructions I've ever tried to follow. The online installation videos are just diagrams and no voiceover - they are useless images of everything going perfectly! The manufacturer's online PDFs aren't much better. Disgust.
