I've heard good things about TENS units in physical therapy, but never used one myself. My partner has had a debilitating back pain in his lower back for almost two months straight, with very little relief. He was reluctant to go to physical therapy. So I thought, what would the physical therapist do that he could do at home? I ordered this particular unit, because of all the positive reviews and the low cost.Because I was unsure if it would even work, I certainly didn't want to be out a lot of money.nor was I certain my partner would even use it.The VERY FIRST TREATMENT - I noticed his pain levels decreased, and I noticed his swelling had slightly subsided in that area. The next day, he took NO pain medication for the first time in months. We rubbed a little hemp cream on it, and a little arnica but thats it. (we had been using those creams all along, with some minor improvement)So I decided to try it on my low back pain. I've been having this pain for at least 15 years or longer, off and on. Lo and behold, it helped so much! I ended up hooking up two more pads to my bra-line muscles, where I also always have pain, and then to my arm and shoulder area.I got soooo sleepy and drowsy. It helped me so much with pain, and also relaxation. I felt myself get a little loopy. But when I stood up after 3 separate sessions on different areas - I felt so much better and the pain in my back was totally gone.Later in the evening I went swimming and it wasn't until the drive home ( many hours later) that I felt a little twinge of pain again in that area. But for the most part, I still feel great.Needless to say - here I am, writing a review, and coming on here to order one for MYSELF! :)
