Many dissatisfied reviewers seem to be purchasing this item for uses outside of its intended use. It is designed as an adapter to connect the 2-1/4" dust collection fitting on the tool to the smaller Dewalt brand dust extraction hoses. I have a Dewalt 8 gallon vacuum and use it to connect to my Dewalt table saw. He's perfect for that! The 2-1/4" diameter side can come loose or be accidentally knocked out, but I just screwed a small screw into the side panel to attach it to the table saw. The other side snaps into the hose just like it's supposed to Dewalt mobile dust extractor Love it Just ordered another one for my router table fence.
