Watched a couple of YouTube videos before I bought this and seemed to be what I was looking for.Better than expected! This replaces a photo-cell timer I have been using with my Christmas lights for years. I was specific to get one that worked with the Smart Life app because everything else I have is Smart Life.Device:2 outlets rated 15A each. Manual On/Off for each outlet. Light On=Outlet On. Middle button cuts both On/Off simultaneously. Middle button displays WIFI when connected and also serves as the reset button.Pairing to Smart Life:Download the Smart Life app if you don't use it already and create an account. Plug the device in. Press and hold the middle button until the device resets. The WIFI light will flash blue. Top right corner of the Smart Life app is a blue circle with a plus sign. Tap that, then press the "Socket (WiFi)" picture on the top row. Enter your WIFI information (I have an Orbi mesh system and do nothing special - it auto-connects to the 2.4GHz) and click next. Click next. Click next. Tap the radio button beside 'Confirm the indicator is blinking.' then click next. After a slight delay of 30 secs or so (if you entered the correct information) the app will automatically display the configuration page. Also, Alexia will display a notification that 3 new devices are found (Assuming that you have already installed the 'Alexia' app). From the configuration page you can change the name or create a schedule for the device.Alexia:If you (like me) use you Alexia devices and routines you need to do a little bit more. I created a group with another Smart Life plug and called the group 'Outdoor Lights'. Note that Alexia sees 3 devices: The combo switch which cuts both outlets on/off and 2 other switches for individual installation. I only wanted both outlets to work at the same time, so I did not even bother to name the individual switches. From here I can say "Alexia, Turn on the Outdoor Lights" and they will come on. But. I like routines so I created a routine that cuts the Outdoor Lights on 30 minutes before sunset. and a different routine that cuts them off at 11PM. Now it is completely automatic (note there are 2 completely separate devices in the group).For me, all this took less than 10 minutes from opening the box to finished. If this is your first time using a WIFI outlet, it might take about 20-30 minutes in total.This has been running for several days now and could not be happier. This is ALSO one of the only outdoor WIFI switches that offers an Asurion warranty - 4 years for $3.99. I will gladly pay that to get my money back 4 years from now if it breaks.Finally - here is something that you don't see.I feel so strongly about this device that I offer to assist anyone wanting to do what I did via email if you are having problems with this device.just comment on my review or ask a question in the 'Have a question?
