Review on ๐Ÿงช Permatex 22058 Dielectric Tune-Up Grease: Ultimate Protection in a 3 oz. Tube by Mitch Wright

Real pure silicone grease. Good material!

The original with no additives or "stretch marks" like teflon or oil (suitable for some applications but not many). A good material for electrical, high voltage, brake and high temperature equipment, lubricant for O-rings, syringes, pumps, valves, etc. It is a fair priced item used by most industrial companies and also has many uses in the household. I wrote this review because it can be difficult to find a clean item online. Typically, blends marketed as "silicone grease" just don't cut it. (You can't use oil near oxidizers, some will melt, some will foul systems, or attack some rubber compounds, etc.) so I thought I'd make life a little easier for those of you who are after a real silicone lube seek. (For automatic brakes this is not critical and there are many good brake lubes available (I like Permatex 21425 ceramic in a purple tin) but you can use this for most applications involving heat, harsh chemicals and electricity. Includes: cartridges for bulbs, plugs , Plug Wires & Covers, O-Rings for Hydraulic Valves, Use on Threads & Electrical Connectors in the Salt/Rust Belt to help your connectors & union nuts rust more slowly, You can rub film on car window seals (NOT door wipers) to keep windows from freezing preserve, put a little on keys and locks for the same effect, lubricates and protects mechanical control cables from corrosion (wipe the inner cable before installing it in the case), I've even used it on the covers of powerful rocket engines - Dr. Rocket and motors for home brewing (pure silicone is the only lubricant, ie as can be used safely like N2O), and it is food grade, so it can be used for valves of home brewing devices etc. (other kind). Anyway, if you want real silicone lube, you all know that. Dow Corning's High Vacuum Grease in the green/white tube is the same and is also highly recommended, but usually costs more. Buy it!
