Resin yellows the water even after thorough rinsing. I had to pass the entire tank of boiling water through it twice until it started leaking clean water. But after that everything was fine but worried. Charcoal makes water very bitter no matter how many times I run boiling water through the coffee maker. I ran about 3 tanks and it still tasted gross, very bitter. It's a good price for a set, but they're cheap for a reason I guess.
- FOR BEST TASTE BEVERAGES: Replace the alternative filter cartridge every 2 months or every 60 water tank fills (or sooner if you have hard water). Changing your Breville water filter regularly will keep your brewed coffee fresh and rich.
