This is the first time that I use a Maxboost extended arm car mount. The II has a few more moving parts than my old one, but it is much more stable and fits tighter after installation and properly tightened adjustment wheels. Although the installation and usage instructions are clear and easy to follow, I didn't need them as the mount is easy to set up and use. The instructions provide three installation options using a square glass mounting plate that attaches to the dashboard. This is the recommended method and is preferred for uneven surfaces. The suction cup has a plastic cover that needs to be removed to allow the mount to stick to the mounting plate. It is removed by simply tearing it off. I installed it above the dashboard which gives a clear view of the phone. It only took a few minutes to install and configure it to my liking. After the mount is installed, it is ready for use. Bracket rotates 360 degrees for easy adjustment. Mount head, neck and arm have an adjustment wheel which also simplifies adjustment. My iPhone Xs max with a strong protective case fits snugly in the mount head, but I had to remove the belt clip because the mount head was not deep enough to accommodate the protective case and clip. It would be great if I could just put the assembled phone, protective case and belt clip into the holder. Minor inconvenience of having to remove the belt clip every time I need to insert the phone into the cradle, especially since I get in and out of the car a lot, but it's worth the security benefits. The mount absorbs any bumps in the road, and neither the mount nor the phone move. Once I set the phone up the way I want it, it doesn't move, vibrate, change position, or fall over even if I hit a bump or pothole. I really like the mount, as do my wife and children. I recommend it as a practical and affordable gift. Raul C
