Review on 🔘 Pro-Ject Phono Box S2 - Black by Ha Joon

I was flattered by the laudatory reviews and the fact that the phono stage is from the same company as my vinyl player. However, it's a bummer. If through the amplifier and speakers, the sound seemed to be better, due to the raising of the bass, then when listening through headphones, it was just a disaster! The player is powered by its impulse power supply, the corrector from its own, either an overlay or something else happened . In short, a fairly strong background in the pauses, a rise in the low / midrange region and a decline in the high frequencies, which upset the tonal balance, deterioration stereo bases and incomprehensible sound throwing at some frequencies from channel to channel. The rumble filter doesn't seem to work. Didn't feel any difference when turned on. A total disappointment! The box obviously needs to be improved! Against this background, the native built-in phono stage seems to be the height of perfection! A magnificent, balanced sound, a chic stereo panorama, the background is there, but very weak and is heard only at the end of the record on an empty track. All in all, money wasted. It's a shame. For those who are not connected with amateur radio, I do not advise taking it!
