So I'm making a keepsake box for a family member and need smaller screws so I don't split the wood. The size was large HOWEVER I hand tightened it with a screwdriver to avoid removing it with a drill. But I was sooo wrong. Not only did it rip the head off after a few turns, but I tried again very slowly with a small drill bit and it didn't come loose, just the screw CRACKED IN HALF AT ANY MAXIMUM PRESSURE. Half of the screws are now in the pre-drilled holes. I don't know if I received a bad batch but they didn't work for me at all. They felt very cheap, like flimsy electroplated brass screws, too strong and beautiful.
