If you don't have bunk boards, slatted frames or someone to cut wood for you, don't take this bed. However, if you have the opportunity to have any of the above, the bed is great. My dad was able to make some slats and planks that made the bed 100 feet longer. Without support, the mattress will be poorly supported and your child will suffer, especially if a foam mattress is used. With support, I can confidently lie on the bed with my son. I weigh 164 and my son is 2 years old. He loves his bed with Spiderman. The stickers bubble, but they do the job. Anyway, we can always get more Spiderman stickers. The way the bed is attached with screws is great, well made and solid. My son is pretty rough. He was already trying to stand on the railing and jump, and they didn't refuse - thank God. My three stars are based on quality and durability. I can't give 5 stars because without my dad buying this bed would be a huge mistake, especially with the foam mattress. I was able to attach the wood to the frame with strong velcro (after heating it with a hair dryer to improve adhesion).
