Recently bought for the second time. (The first case is still ok, but I was careless when I washed it and it doesn't look very good - darker and lint free.) The eco case looks strange at first, but after washing it's very soft, like a medium weight one flannel fabric. It's not hot to sleep ("sweaty"). I don't know how it goes with the crib mattress unfortunately. I use it to cover a foldable wedge-shaped pillow "Medslant" when I travel, so as not to collect bed bugs in hotels and bring them home. It's comfortable, loose fit, a bit long but it makes it easy to put on and take off. The cover slips easily over the unfolded pillow and the excess length tucks under one end and unclips for easy folding when traveling.) The construction is not very visible in the photos. Inside, behind the end of the zipper when closed (just the end or the beginning) is a very small (1.5-2 inch?) fabric panel as an extra bed bug barrier. Bed bugs can still get in. inside or outside at this point, but that's an additional barrier and not a visible gap, like many flashes "above" (I hope this description is clear).
