Great for Beginners - Amazing Results!

The instructions in the box are inspired. The author is patient, humble and wise. The instructions gently guided me to use the green suede side of the strap for kitchen cutlery and carrying knives. into the paper to cut through every 12 inches of the paper as if it had been sharpened at the factory. Not only that - instead of leaning left or right, it cuts perfectly evenly through the entire 12 inch of paper. I'm a beginner, I've done diamond/stone grinding for three years. A month ago I injured my thumb using a dull bread knife to cut a loaf of hard-skinned French bread for toast. In response, I bought a few new knives and started using angled guides to maintain blade angles while sharpening. The results were good - all my old knives were sharp. But not factory sharp / razor sharp like new knives. I'm damn close with this tape. I followed the instructions up to the tee: If the knife is dull, sharpen it with a coarse or medium-sized whetstone. If the knife is already sharp, sharpen it on a fine-grained stone. Then use a sling. If it's not a barber razor, use the suede side and the green blend. Keep the angle as small as possible, e.g. B. 10 degrees or less. Like a barber in the movie, always move towards the back end of the blade. The only thing you can add to the instructions: Place a small stack of printer paper, cut in half, next to the knives. Never sharpen or sharpen a knife without first making five cuts in a piece of paper about 1/4 inch apart. With a double knife it takes about 10 seconds, with a long chef's knife maybe 20 seconds. Sharpen, five notches. then 5 more slices of sling, then 5 more slices If you do everything right, the knife will cut deeper and deeper into the paper with each step. more boring than at the beginning! It takes time to build the muscle memory needed to maintain a consistent, correct angle with every movement across the grinding surface. A beginner will never get better without objective proof of effectiveness.
