These are normal very rich browns - not as pictured. I even tried swapping the base pieces together to see if that would help but it works just don't work in this size is shorter than everyone else THE WORST thing about these stools is they are NOT 26" tall! See attached picture. They are too low for my kitchen counter which is a standard 35" countertop. False advertising. The top of the seat is barely 24 inches, and the actual seat height from the floor is just under 22 inches at the base of the seat.
