Our steamer has finally overtaken us after 12 years. We got one in 2000 as a wedding present. He died in 2012. One of the plastic shells started cracking in 2011. Pros: Well steamed: We cooked chicken breast, crab legs, rice, veggies. Cons: Food sits on plastic. It is very difficult to clean plastic pallets. We used it to steam meat for our dog. Drops of fat clog the holes. I had to use a cleaning brush and then put the bowl in the dishwasher for a final cleaning. Otherwise, it took a long time and contained a large amount of food.
