I had another set of a similar product from another manufacturer, RF-LINK. It also ran at 5.8 GHz, but only worked "well" for a few years - it was never great. It was about 15-20 feet from the TV in the kitchen, but it had to be in sight or there would be noise and interference. We just lived with it. But in the end, RF-LINK failed completely, turning the TV picture into a slow vertical rotation. I tried changing the channel on the transmitter, but it didn't change anymore, so the device itself was fried. After seeing the positive reviews and ratings of this Nyrius, I decided to give it a try. WOW! Like day and night. The picture is very sharp and clear and I love that the IR repeater doesn't require power like my old one on RF-Link. I am SUPER happy with this purchase.
