Review on Enhance Your 2015 F-150 F150 with Ford OEM Dash Trailer Brake Control Module Kit by Scott Rodriguez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Worked on a 2016 f150

If you are reading this you don't want to pay the dealer an exorbitant amount to install it. The good news is that it's not difficult. There are many videos on YouTube showing how to take the dash apart and wire up this bad boy. The hardest part is putting the dashboard together and getting everything aligned. The second part is programming. Dealers in my area have charged $130 or more to program this device. I did a little research and found a $30 part (listed below) on Amazon that attaches to a programming cart. You need to download the free Forscan software (yes, there is no d in that word) to your computer, then register on the website for an extended license and you can start programming yourself. I bought the device and downloaded the software but I couldn't program it because you need an extended free license. The good news is all I had to do was register, wait for someone to confirm my registration, download the extended license, and then I was free to code. Again, the network is full of videos on how to do this. Really easy and saved me $100 and a trip to the dealer. Also, I now have a device that I can use to scan codes when my truck throws them out. If you have even a little skill, you can install and program it yourself. Watch a few videos and see for yourself how easy it is.
