My experience is that when an adult uses attachments (Gym1 says they can hold up to 300 pounds) the fairing case comes off the wall after a few hours of use. I was probably rocking with the kids for a total of 1-2 hours in a few months when we attached it to our entryway panel and it separates. A typical crossbar for an average adult weighing about 200 pounds will not usually damage your fairing, but if the same adult leans off the frame you will quickly find the fairing detaching from the wall. Maybe mine are glued instead of nailed. Adults are advised not to swing with children unless your fairing is nailed to the wall, not glued. There's a reason the swing is attached externally to the metal supports that hold it together with thick screws and bolts. If anyone normally has about 300lbs on a swing without damaging the trim I would love to hear how this was achieved as I have my molding to fix which is just a small job. When I dug a metal bracket into the hallway trim a few weeks ago, I had a hunch that trim and renovation would be separate. I expect most kids to only use the swing occasionally when friends are over. But I would like to know how many times a child can swing before a similar situation arises. I wonder how many hours a child can actually swing before a similar situation occurs. In my estimation, most of them didn't use it for more than a few hours total. The general consensus is that you may need to reinforce the fairing or molding with additional screws, particularly at the top where the metal bracket is. A reviewer also recommended screwing the body to the clamps. There is simple physics at work, and if an adult plans to use a swing or other contraption, the user must reinforce the surface with a few nails. I recommended this product to friends before I found out about mold damage. But either the company adds nails to enhance the finish, or they find it out the hard way and drill their own nails into the finish with an air nail gun. If your nails fall out, give up and install a special ninja warrior-style outdoor play area that may be the best path to long-term fitness.
