I had three betta fish. One was in this plastic bowl and the other two were in glass bowls. The anchovy (the one in the plastic tray) died in his new tank a few days later. Since the plastic bowl is bigger than the glass bowl, I put another fish in it. His name was Rud. Same story, he died a few days later. I'm not putting my last fish in this killer bowl. Just go to Walmart or any dollar store and buy the biggest and cheapest glass bowl you can find and use. This mug is not worth the risk. *Note: I changed the water regularly and used the water conditioner. There was no difference in the care of the fish.
