Great Bluetooth add on for Honda Odyssey

I bought this for my 2010 Honda Odyssey which didn't have Bluetooth from the factory. Installation was relatively easy. Since I wasn't using a factory XM and wanted steering wheel control, I installed the unit behind the radio with a CDC DIP switch setting. Radio communication was easy and there was plenty of room behind the radio for the device. I also installed a separate Aux/USB port with cables connected to the bluetooth device. I installed the mic near the driver's side A-pillar and had to keep it near the A-pillar so it wouldn't interfere with the sun visor. The hardest part of the installation was routing all the wiring behind the upholstery and dash. There are many videos on Youtube! Streaming and telephony work great. When a call comes in, the unit switches to the XM source and announces the caller ID. The call can be answered via channel + on the steering wheel and disconnected via channel -. Please note that you must use Siri or a physical phone to initiate a call. My only complaint about the unit is that the phone and streaming volume is noticeably lower than the radio. This also happens when the phone volume is set to 100%. Also switch the audio source back after the call if you have been listening to the radio or CD. However, these issues are not an impediment to the deal. Overall I'm satisfied with the product and believe it has added modern features to the car and expanded the range of uses.

Pros
  • Bluetooth car kits
Cons
  • Very expensive
