To be honest, I initially felt uncomfortable with this device. I bought it at a flea market and it showed signs of an autopsy. But after using a multimeter to test the 12V, 5V, and 3V rails (all within 5% of their respective voltages), I installed it on my test computer. As it turned out, the system worked flawlessly. Of course, my test system has a very low power consumption (about 100 watts, maybe less), but it still worked. I can't rate the device 5 stars as I haven't used it fully so I don't know if I should rate it 400w. Also, it only has one SATA connector. For real? SATA may have been a new emerging technology at the time of its release, but systems currently require at least 3 SATA connectors (1 for floppy drive, 2 for SSD and HDD). If you plan to have more than one storage device that requires a SATA power connector, be sure to purchase a Molex to SATA converter.
