Installed transformer into a surface mounted electrical box.

I replaced my old 2 wire heat only thermostat and installed a new Honeywell thermostat that required a C wire with 24 volts. I installed the transformer in the furnace room and ran 7 conductor cable to thermostat location for future ac/heat use. The new Honeywell thermostat needed power that the old one did not need. Installation of thermostat and transformer was quick and easy. I ran 2 wires from new transformer using 2 wires from the new 7 wire cable with no issues.

Pros

The transformer worker great with my Ring doorbells.

Cons

Transformer may be too large or bulky for certain applications
