literally wore it last night without washing it as it just arrived, my daughter moved from her cot to the nursery. Twin and we didn't want to be caught unprotected even for one night (guess I could wash it the next day). Well, the scene that greeted us this morning was like a scene from a horror movie. My daughter had nosebleeds at night and all of her bedding - sheets + carpet + that comforter - was soaked with blood stains and spatter. When I got to the final layer and removed the suction cup, the mattress was spotless! Pleasantly surprised that for only $14 this did an exceptional job. Holds up great after washing (wash in cold water according to directions and Oxyclean still removed 100% of the blood stains!) and it's both comfortable and a good noise insulator. Once the third layer of sheets is on, even my picky kid won't notice the difference. I will buy another one as a backup.
