It would be more accurate to call this "screen patching" than "screen repair" as essentially it involves placing large pieces of sticky tape over the holes. The tape is quite sticky and has a screen pattern on it but it is not replacing screen with screen. Perhaps this should have been obvious to me but it wasn't. Still, I think it is a handy product and especially helpful for smaller holes or as a temporary solution when one does not want to replace the screen altogether.My situation was that I had squirrels break into my house through a back patio door and a front storm door late last summer while I was in another room working. I didn't want to replace the screens as I feared the squirrels would ruin the new ones as well. I patched the holes in a makeshift manner with pieces of old screen and fine wire. So far this year, I am watching and waiting. I was hoping this product would be superior to my makeshift patching. It has the advantage of lying flat (harder to achieve with my wire-on method) enabling the screen on the storm door to slide up and down more readily. Otherwise, I'm not sure that it is any better - maybe not as good. But a person doesn't not always have old screen sitting around and not all holes occur on ground floor windows so this product can be quite useful in a pinch.I found the product fairly easy to use, though the packaging and backing were sometimes challenging to remove. If one is patching sizeable holes as I was, putting the tape on only one side of the hole leaves an exposed sticky surface to which I anticipate debris would stick. Hence, I patched on both the inside and the outside. There was plenty of tape on the roll to do this. It looks like it should hold up. I will return and edit this review if experience shows the product to be better or worse than my first impression.
