I've been a fan of these hooks for years - I'm pretty sure I bought my first set from a discount store about 15 years ago before I splurged college went. One hung over my dorm door and was a good hook for my jackets and large bags and the other hook hung over my bathroom door and held my large towel. I was very glad I had these hooks as I knew thicker plastic or heavier metal hooks would not work over the door. My dorm had these heavy metal doors with no real gap between the door and the door frame. These hooks are very unobtrusive and won't stop me from closing any door I've ever put them on. Without these hooks I would have had to resort to 3M Command hooks in my dorm as we weren't allowed to drill anything, but the Command hooks probably wouldn't hold my heaviest items as well as these. In addition, the installation of these hooks is obviously much easier and more reliable. These metal hooks look flimsy and very light, but they're strong and durable, and will flex even under heavy loads (winter coats, loaded bags, whatever.) The metal reminds me of aircraft aluminum. In addition, the rubbery white coating is holding up quite well. Even slippery nylon jackets stay hooked no matter how many times you open and close the door. I've never had the coating crack or slip. Over the years I have taken these hooks to many homes and apartments. Sure I've used them for clothes and towels, but they also worked for hanging an ironing board in front of my laundry room door and hanging shoe organizers on my closet door. A downside to this product? These are really easy to forget when you move in (you just forget they're hanging there because they're so unobtrusive and almost seem like a permanent fixture in the house), so I had to buy a few more sets here and there. After a recent move I accidentally left my hooks with my old roommate and since she loved them too I told her I would buy more for myself. can't be found, but Revane came to the rescue! I was thrilled to find these were the exact same hooks I had bought for 15 years. No frills - just a heavy duty hook that will fit almost any standard door and as I said it really works to hold your clothes and other items (unlike some fancy decorative hooks that you can screw into a wall where smooth items just slide off). They're not fancy, but they work, and they're so versatile in your home that you won't be bothered about lack of imagination.
