1 wire not working (yellow wire) had to bypass - not happy with the new cable with 1 dead wire

I left positive feedback at first because the wiring looks good and is of good quality. I was finally able to fully plug it in and it turned out that the yellow wire was dead or broken. I checked it with a continuity tester and I was right. I spent over an hour of my time fixing this cord and new outlet. What frustrates me is that I had to cut the shrink tubing and use a different wire because the yellow wire in this cable didn't work. After the bypass, my installation works, but everything Mickey Mouse worked.
