Review on ๐ŸŽฎ NACON Wired Compact Control: High-Performance Gaming Controller for Unmatched Precision by Sean Burnett

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Bad design and very uncomfortable.

I received the controller today and upon unboxing I was disappointed with the feel of the triggers and the design of the top of the controller. The trigger buttons are much larger than the regular DS4 controller and they're also further apart than the official controller, which puts a strain on my fingers. This alone makes it very uncomfortable for both large and small hands. I have medium to small sized hands with a carpel tunnel so this makes a big difference when it comes to ergonomic design and button placement. I've used mini and compact controllers in the past (PS2 mini Madcatz) which weren't that badly designed. Not only the design flaws in the top placement/trigger design, but the trigger buttons themselves don't get actuated from time to time which is very frustrating when gaming. Sometimes the d-pad fails because it's almost impossible not to press the center of the d-pad. because of its design. The handles feel too twisted in the design, causing my wrists to flex a lot, leading to cramps, pain, and tiring quickly while playing. Looking at the pics I figured I could handle being the compact/mini I could probably have, but the top controller/trigger design and trigger misses ruined it for me. Unfortunately I have to send it back for a refund. Pros: The texture and shine of the controller are really nice. The controller in the idea looks beautiful. There is a microphone/headphone jack. The cord was long enough that I didn't need an extension cord for me which also allows me to say that this is a bonus that it's wired so I don't have to deal with charging. Cons: There are flaws in the design of the top of the controller. making it difficult to use the top 4 trigger buttons which together with the lack of button action when in use makes matters worse. The D-Pad can become dull and sensitive. While it didn't bother me terribly, the joysticks seem to be a bit smaller and they have a very small dead zone that's barely noticeable, but that could be a game changer for some people. Final verdict: I wanted to love this controller. It looks great and feels quite durable with a soft matte texture. The seller pages do not show the top down image of the triggers which should have been a red flag for me to make this purchase as I have been in this position before. I suggest shelling out an extra $10-$15 for a Sony DS4 or maybe even a Hori Mini if you're looking on a smaller budget.
