A storage solution in the back of a super jeep!

I was looking for an inexpensive way to add storage to my 2012 Jeep Wrangler 4 Door. This product meets many requirements; affordable, innovative design, durable, easy to install. Installation was easy at first, taking about 45 minutes with minimal tools (requires a 17mm socket) other than the included hex keys. Essentially, you bolt the support leg to the rear seat mounting point and the top edge of the shelf to a unique collar-like metal fastener that runs around the stabilizer bar. Unlike other reviewers, my installation went smoothly, the gas strut works as intended, and it's quiet even on my country road. Love the fact that when the block is in the "up" position, it actually serves as a loading stop. Not sure if this was the intended design, but it works well as such. The downside is that you can't see out the rear window in the up position. I predicted that the charging shelf could be noisy when in use as cargo bounces/slides over the top metal shelf and items would likely slide if not strapped down. To deal with this I cut a piece of boat mat and put it on a shelf (secured with velcro) which should fix both problems. If you need to tie things down, the retaining rails hold "bombproof" - very strong. The markings on the outside of the shipping carton indicated 51 pounds, once installed the unit probably weighed around 45 pounds. The finish is a semi-gloss black, almost like a thin truck body spray on a liner finish. I had a handy 17 gallon storage tub from Home Depot (cheap and very strong) and the top shelf could hold two and the bottom two more. Another note: I have a Dirty Dog Nylon Webbing Pet Barrier and the unit works fine with the barrier installed. I've provided a picture of the folded unit with a large, soft-walled cooler, large tent, 15 and 17 gallon bags, and large backpack to give you an idea of how much space it creates. There was plenty of room in the rear cargo area to store extra gear like sleeping bags.
