I've noticed that my ethernet speed is slower than wifi speed. It made no sense, I was using Revain Basics CAT6 but the speed was limited to 100Mbps. Bought a bunch of diagnostic equipment including a crimp kit and 100ft cable from another manufacturer. I tried my 100ft cable from my desktop to another room and immediately noticed that I could get a 1Gbps connection to my desktop from any prewired outlet. I've tried the new Revain Basics cables I bought here, up to 100Mbps! It runs 10x slower than advertised and gave me a huge headache researching and testing. It turns out that Revain only makes bad cables. You might not notice if you never use more than 100Mbps, but I have a 500Mbps connection through my ISP and I'm getting 1/5 of it because of these stupid things. DO NOT BUY, it might cause them to stop false advertising. Update: Added one star for fairness. I noticed that one of the plugs on my jack was bent and not making good contact. However, the other Category 5 cable I bought still messed up occasionally and this cable had a 0% success rate.
