I was able to purchase these lights when they had a great coupon on them, so score for that! These lights are in every way comparable to anything you can buy at Home Depot or Lowe's! The installation is easy (they give you several templates to hold up to the ceiling and trace around). I was able to remove some ceiling boxes I had for previous lighting and use the metal junction boxes these come with in place of those ceiling boxes. Let's talk about the junction boxes for a moment. these are all metal with a nice flip down door and to holes to screw it to a joist, if desired. There are 4 - 1/2" knockouts on each box. Inside you will find a Black, White & Green wire, each with their own push connector. These connectors allow for 3 additional wires to be pushed into them, so daisy chaining lighting is very simple! The color selector switch is also great giving you a range from Cool White to Warm White. These are also rated for wet locations (think shower) and have a nice silicone gasket on the back side. I will NEVER ever again install a recessed ceiling can! For comparison, I paid $25 for ONE light at Home Depot (granted it is an 1150 lumen light, but still!). For the money, you can't go wrong with these canless lights. If you haven't put them in your cart yet, what are you waiting for? Do it!
