This is a very functional USB microphone; easy installation and good voice quality as I communicate with people all over the world and in different time zones. A friend of mine who lives in Tasmania, Australia can hear me so clearly it's like I'm in the next room or right there! I love the flexible gooseneck that the mic is attached to! The neck is quite flexible and strong which means it will hold its place. I needed a replacement for my old Logitech microphone that costs $39.99, but for some reason I can't find one for less than $100.00! Supply and Demand I also think it was a quality unit, but I wouldn't pay $100 to replace it. CMTECK seems to be good value for money, good for basic Skype, webcam or audio recording from your desktop. The base of the device is solid and strong enough to hold the device securely on your desk. The only mute button on the device toggles, but you actually have to press it, not a touchscreen button good enough to work in normal use. Besides being pretty stable, your cat won't just activate it when it passes the block, which is good! GENERAL ADVANTAGES: 1. Decent quality of audio recording/transmission (speech/sound)2. USB connection means the microphone is full duplex which means Tx/Rx simulcast is sent while receiving from the broadcast from your client/host source. Most modern USB microphones are full duplex by default! Best value for money, solid construction, won't break into 100 pieces if accidentally dropped on the ground or tipped over (just don't pierce it! ;))4. The flexible gooseneck design offers the wearer a comfortable fit and keeps it well in place. CONS: 1. Buttons and switches could be better placed on the device body.2. There is no physically adjustable volume/gain/input control on the device, everything is controlled by the software through your system.3. There is no separate stereo audio jack/port to connect or expand accessories or other devices.4. The footprint of the device could be a bit more ergonomic, the triangular shape looks nice but makes it a bit awkward on a desk or surface with limited space. It is not very convenient to take it with you on the go, for example, when you go to a coffee shop, yougart bar, etc. where coffee cups and computers compete for desk space. Also, this block will most likely eat up your battery if your system is not connected to a power source! Thus, mobility is restricted. Bottom line: I would buy this device again given the price tag of just under $20, but I'd look elsewhere if the price went up to $25 or even $30. But still happy with my purchase.
