The pads do their job but the abrasive wears out in seconds, at least the ones I've used on my axe, ax and sledgehammer. I ended up using a couple of 240 grit pieces. After they wore out I could still use pads and sand down the metal for those three tools, but still. lolz. I recommend just buying a special stone or tool attachment for your drill press so the sand lasts a long time. Overall they're ok but just know they won't last very long - more of a disposable item (that's why they give you 180 after all).
