Russian Roulette for Expensive Pencils

Update: I was hoping that maybe I'm just an idiot who doesn't know how to use a pencil sharpener, so I spent the morning sharpening pencils to get this thing to get. work properly. I tried adjusting the sharpness, holding the pencil while it was being sharpened, pulling the pencil through the big holes, letting it guide itself, replacing the blade with the extra one they brought, only cutting small pieces at a time . Nothing worked. The picture is just a small part of the tips I was able to keep (which I still want to use because pastels are very expensive). If you hate yourself and want 2021 to be as bad as 2020, buy this sharpener. I really liked these sharpeners but a lot of my pastel pencils have broken off the ends so I'll have to buy a new set - I've only had them for a week by the way. And it's so frustrating every time because it doesn't clean up the broken wire as intended. It just stays there. So I have to take it apart, which is almost impossible because it's not a screw cap but a focal plane cap with such a tight tolerance that it doesn't look like it should fall apart where it should. It takes so long to clean a broken lead that it would be quicker (and less wasteful) to sharpen pencils by hand. Also, putting the sharpener back together after you've taken it apart is a nightmare, because you need to align the blade gears with the gear to rebuild the base. It's like trying to change a tiny gearbox, but blindfolded. I hate that.
