This shampoo (and conditioner) works great for our pug who had dry skin and was shedding quite a bit before. I was doing research about pug grooming and since then I give him a bath at least once a week and he hast the most gorgeous, shiniest coat.It smells great, not like the average dog shampoo.this is a smell I can't see myself getting tired of. It rinses well.He does not have any dandruff anymore and doesn't scratch himself either. And no, now he sheds really, very minimal! (the salmon and/or hemp seed oil I add to his food might be helping with shedding as well! (; )I too used to think, you can't bathe your dog more often than once every month or less but.ugh, it's not true. Of course, it's much more strenous work with a bigger dog than with the pug-face.I think it's worth it though.Before his bath I brush him very thoroughly and when shampooing him I use the Kong Zoom Groom. I also use a very diluted form of the conditioner to make my own detangling mixture which I use to spray on the pug BEFORE every brushing session. I have heard from several pug people now to never brush a dry coat.I could go on and on.Anyways, of course a healthy diet is the most important factor for a healthy, shiny coat but this Oxy Med line is a great addition which I recommend to my friends.So please, don't use dish soap for your dog.
