Hard to find breaker

I personally bought this for a caravan that had limited space for the breaker and was specifically designed to work with this class of double breaker. However, it will work in any Siemens Q case. The Q series is a series of circuit breakers and load panels. As described, these are a pair of "single-acting" switches in the same space traditionally occupied by one. This is NOT a double pole switch designed for use with 240V applications. This switch occupies 1 switch slot and gives you two independent 120V power circuits. This particular model offers you a 120V 15A circuit and a 120V 20A circuit. This requires two neutral wires and two ground connections with a neutral wire and a ground rod, so make sure you have those on your panel as well. Dueling switches work particularly well in small panels with a limited number of switch slots that have 240V bipolar switches installed, since the 240V lines provide an additional neutral and ground connection compared to the number of slots they occupy left behind on the neutral/ground rail. . As always, be sure to turn off the primary disconnect for the panel you are working on. Also, make sure the circuits you are installing this switch in have a wire rated for that amperage. And if you are unsure whether you can work with electricity, please consult a licensed electrician. I've only had this particular device for about two months. No problem to report. There is no hum (sign of a faulty switch) and the throw buttons click securely in the on position, just as the throw should hit. Although I've owned this unit not long ago, I've used many Siemens Q type circuit breakers over the past 10 years with excellent results. I have also had experience with other Siemens double switches and had no problems before. I recommend Siemens to all other brands. Update 09/20/14: Four years later still no problems to report. As expected excellent quality from Siemens.
