I have a front mounted bobbin awl, when I broke the needle I found that not every old needle will work with this tool. So I switched the tools to an awl which had a spool inside the case and an adjustable tip to fit different needles (I didn't like it) so I took a chance and they fit perfectly, I'm back in business and very happy
