At first glance this shaver looks and feels like a little toy. But it's a really powerful machine that delivers a close shave without irritation. However, you may need to use a different shaver if the beard growth lasts longer than a day or two. Best for everyday use. NON-RECHARGEABLE - 2 AA batteries only, dry shaving only. Very well made and durable - all metal, no plastic. However, the cover can come off too easily and damage the strainer head when resting on a surface. I use a rubber band to make sure the lid stays in place. It's a little pricey but worth it, especially for people with lighter beards. I don't know if replacement heads are equally expensive and readily available. With all Surch razors, it's best not to brush the foil directly with a brush - it's very delicate. Just blow off dirt and clean the cutting blade from time to time. For an even more comfortable and thorough shave, I use a razor stick.
