The photo shows how worn the old 15 year old nylon rollers on my garage door are. They are worn both in width and in height. These new Xyte rollers were thicker and taller, so once installed, my garage door jammed slightly, which was indicated by the 2/3 mark popping up. It actually took me a few days to figure out why. I lubricated everything, tightened all pivot pins, adjusted the chain, etc. Then I found that the rollers in the chain slide very little in the down position, so bind. I slid the bottom rail out about 3/4" from the door on either side. Now the thicker, taller, and newer rollers had enough room to slide back and forth and function properly. I actually have to back it up a bit move it just to be on the safe side but i need to drill new guide holes for the draw bolts as the garage door installer didnt give me much work.thus the rollers themselves appear to be of excellent quality.made in china i believe it is the People's Republic of China. No complaints at all. Very quiet and better than my old nylon reels. Installation. So there are four main ways to install them. Bend back part of the rail, get a puller removal tool, remove the trunnions for each roller or remove the bottom rail.I removed the bottom rail, one side at a time, leaving the rail on the other side would hold the door in place. First I lifted the door, took out 2 bolts and 2 screws in the bracket where the top and bottom rails meet. bracket removed. I then lowered the door, removed the old rollers, and put in the new ones after smearing the shafts with red high-temp grease (I also crumpled up a paper towel and pushed it through the hinge tube to clean it). That took care of the bottom four. Then I removed the loop for the top roll. I have a two track system, nothing like what you see in the youtube video. So it took quite a long time but given the condition of my old videos it was necessary to do this.
