Description FULL to the point! The name should probably be changed to "self-heating mat". I have hypothyroidism so I feel cold all the time, especially in my limbs. I am also one of those people who are either too hot or too cold. This product held up well without bunching up or sliding out from under my sheet as long as I didn't toss and turn too much in my sleep. But I prefer to sleep directly on it or throw a loose sheet over it so I can quickly take it off in the middle of the night when I start sweating (it works TOO well). I've only washed it once (once it arrived) so I can't comment on how well it holds up to multiple washes. The "crunching" noise might be an issue for some people, but if you're cold enough I'd learn to deal with it because this thing is 100% guaranteed to keep you warm. .
