When the front or rear cover is removed for service it must be leveled so the gasket is centered on the crankshaft. This tool uses one side for the front cover plus screws, then flips it over and aligns the rear crankshaft cover with the screws provided. A tool works with both caps with the seal removed. It places the cover correctly centered for proper gasket installation as well as the cover gasket on the oil pan. The machine surfaces fit tightly to each lid, bolted while the lid, its gasket, and a blob of angled silicone are secured with finger-tight screws. The cap moves up, down, left or right, tighten the cap, remove the tool, and then install the gasket to prevent future leaks due to improper gasket installation. ASE Master Tech since 1978.
