Somehow I doubt the original creation of this item, was to be used as a paper towel holder, due to the lack of a base to hold the towels from falling down, but it is absolutely adorable!The tall giraffe has a hefty weight to it and having a turquoise colored giraffe, adds a little color and whimsy to the kitchen. Be careful with the base, as it may scratch your counter-top. I would suggest putting a piece of felt on the bottom, to prevent scratches, when sliding.Also, I found a cure, quite by accident, to prevent the paper towels from unwinding - a simple metal key tube squeezer! The key was sitting above the counter, on a shelf, right next to the head of the giraffe. I thought, Brilliant! Another use for the tube squeezer! (We have several, so no tubes are going un-squeezed!)
