It has its uses, but you have to know it.

Well, this product has advantages and disadvantages. If you're looking for something fairly slim that fits into tight spaces and fits tons of men's and women's regular range shoes then you'll probably love this rack. However, if like me you are a huge size 13' and have large oversized steel toe boots then you have a problem. If you live in an area with a lot of dirt or have feral children who wallow in it like pigs, this rack may not be for you as the material the shoes sit on gets dirty very quickly and looks very nice. it's terrible if you don't take off all your shoes and then regularly clean some soapy water, rags and the material. Luckily, to solve problem #1, I was able to easily turn a 10 tier shelf into a 7 tier by removing a shelf or two but leaving the outer support posts in place to add height to a few rows. The only downside is that the part where the poles are installed looks garish without hardware. Well, at least it works. Regarding question #2: I don't have one, but maybe someone who wants to buy one will appreciate your understanding. Now for assembly. It's not difficult as I did it in about 20 minutes. However, the plastic pieces that contain the metal bars are quite tight, so you'll be saying a few 4-letter words to non-bodybuilding ladies as you assemble it. I have a piece of advice for assembly: put half together and then apart the other half and then join two sets of 5 levels at the end to complete it. The higher it goes, the more unstable it becomes when you apply a lot of pressure and the more likely you are to break something, so this approach works pretty well. Most boots generally don't weigh a ton, but if you have a whole shelf full of huge heavy boots like the ones I wear at work then you are going to have stability issues and I would recommend mounting the shelf to a wall so that they can it doesn't tip over. Not that this thing weighs enough to kill anyone, but a small child might need to change their underwear if they fall on them. :P
