Review on Makita ADP05 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Power Source: Enhance Your Portability and Versatility by Don Barbee

Access the power of your existing tool batteries

If you already have a few Makita 18V lithium power tool batteries, buying them is easy. Here's why: you can buy a dedicated USB power bank to charge your phone, but if you don't buy a big one, you won't get the same capacity as the Makita batteries you already have. You also know that genuine Makita batteries, which you've paid a fortune for, are rugged and well built, with good battery management/protection circuitry and high quality cells designed to handle very high current demands without failure. In other words, the Makita batteries you already have will most likely be the best batteries in your household, and you also always keep them charged because you want to use your power tools. If the power goes out or you're out of power somewhere at work, you can connect a spare battery to one of these adapters and easily charge your phone or tablet. And if you're just asking these batteries to charge your phone, they last a really long time. Those huge buzzing batteries and attached charging adapter in your pocket. They give you a belt clip on one end and if you have one of the smaller batteries I think it's fine but with the short 5Ah batteries I usually use it looks a bit absurd. It's more like what you put on the floor or table and then plug in your phone. This is typical Makita quality, it feels solid and probably won't fall apart anytime soon.
