This was my third Netgear ReadyNAS. The first two worked great for several years and still work. Bought this for extra capacity. I also bought two hard drives from the approved hardware list. The device only recognizes one drive and despite hours of troubleshooting (including swapping hard drives and multiple factory resets) I have been unable to make any progress. Then I tried accessing "90 Days Free Customer Support" and here is the biggest problem. I've never seen such an effort to make the helpdesk unavailable. After navigating their website for over an hour and going through various detours, I was finally able to get a phone number only to be presented with a listing saying I should first get a case number and then I would be given further instructions. There is a case number but no further instructions. I'm still waiting. Frequent attempts to use the chat service were unsuccessful because it was "unavailable". I'm crossing Netgear off the Approved Providers list. The product can be good most of the time, but I wouldn't recommend buying anything from a company with such a support model.
