If you follow their YouTube instructions and push the pins up, you have a good chance of dislodging the block, causing the connectors to dislodge or breaking the internal connection points. The bottom line is that if you have this to patch the tape and it's in a hard-to-reach place, if you even look at it, it will shut down. The part to insert the light strip into the adapter is a better size compared to the other adapters and the strip went in as expected. These adapters are an exercise in frustration. They fill the gap left by Philips, but fall short. And you have no choice.
