I bought it as a replacement for the whale 18-55 VR. Very, very satisfied. I repeat - subjectively - it is more pleasant in terms of color reproduction and the amount of light. Now you do not need to think about buying 55+. I join the opinion of others - this is a super-successful glass from Nikon ! Pros: Excellent travel zoom. I am in awe of the versatility of FR. Even impromptu indoor portraits come out good. The impression is that it collects more light than stated. I didn't notice the vignette. The lens hood does not rotate during autofocus operation. The tube itself does not fall out. The stub does a very good job. Wonderful complete set - both a pouch, and a hood. Has cons: At 18-55 VR, autofocus seemed to be faster and more accurate . But something had to be paid for double the zoom .
