Simplicity - Brackets

. I have used Carlon Bracket, Caddy MLPS Bracket and a few others. As a professional electrician, I love that the Caddy is all metal; The 6/32 screws you use to attach the plate go in much easier than the original plastic holes. However, MPLS always requires a few minutes of swearing when trying to find a "pinch screw" hole (which you have to blindly find in the wall). Arlington is easy. Trace the INSIDE of the frame opening and cut the drywall OUTSIDE the line. You just made a simple rectangular hole. Now tighten the screws. Ready. The Arlington also has a slightly deeper clamping area - good for walls up to 1" thick. If you encounter buttonholes or double drywall, you'll need extra depth. Of course, if you come across slats and plaster, it may or may not be over 1 inch thick. In this case, MPLS will serve you better. You'll also need a router or vibratory saw to get a clean cut (or a small drill, some gouging, and a lot of patience).
