Review on E3D Prusa MK3 MK3S HotEnd by Jose Schweigert

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Not supplied with PTFE tube

Please note this is clearly advertised as a KIT and individual parts are shown in the last photo. If you want something pre-built from Prusa or elsewhere, you must be prepared to pay around $80. While instructions are available on YouTube and on the Prusa website, the first guide I found didn't have the steps in the correct order (e.g. the thermistor and heater must be installed on the heater block BEFORE the nozzle, the heating pipe etc. are installed). . I assumed there was a spare PTFE tube in the bag with the details shown in the last photo but with a hidden label. Wrong guess. There isn't one in the kit and I can't salvage the one from my old hotend so I had to order a replacement. In hindsight there may be some logic to this as it is advertised as being suitable for both the MK3 and MK3S which do not use the same length of teflon tubing. If it came with one of each, an inexperienced installer could pick the wrong one. This places the responsibility on the user to use the correct tube. I'm still waiting for parts so can't comment on the print quality but other than that it's OEM quality.
